Pico de Gallo by Veggie Fun Kitchen Pico de gallo is a type of salsa that is served fresh and chunky and has a funny name. Pico de gallo literally translates to “beak of rooster” and was probably called that because people would pinch it up in their fingers – beak like – to eat it. You couldn’t do that with most salsa because that would be a runny mess! That’s what makes pico de gallo different – it’s chunky rather than runny.
Charred Salsa by Conflicted Vegan I know what you are thinking what the heck is “Tatemada”? Well it means when you charr something on your stove either directly on the fire or on a non stick pan and get that burnt skin but still edible. Examples could be vegetables or tortillas cooked in an open flame. The beauty of this salsa is that delicious charr that gives it it’s color and explosion of flavors in your mouth. It has an awesome tang to it but not overbearing elevating any dish that you serve it with. I top my hash browns with it or even my re-fried beans.

Oh wow! These all look spectacular. Have some good dips with chips.
Totally agree Erika, these salsas are all great summer refreshers.
What a great round-up. I don’t know much about salsas and cannot wait to try some for our next movie night.
Hope you love them Marita.
I love salsa! But, I gotta say…I don’t typically go for the fruity varieties. I guess because summer is around the corner, all these fruity ones sound so good right now and I could see adding them to grilled meats or sandwiches even! Yum!
Hope you love them Linda.
