5-Ingredient High Protein, Vegan, Dairy Free and Oil-Free Mayonnaise
If it’s one thing I missed when transitioning to a vegan lifestyle it was the condiments and sauces. So it’s no surprise I recreated my vegan version of mayonnaise. So I have to admit that it doesn’t taste exactly the same and on a scale of one to ten this vegan mayonnaise is a high eight. Make sure that when you recreate it you make it your own. Some of you may want to add more mustard or more acidity and that is totally okay as long as it serves your kitchen table and those gathering around it. Don’t believe just try it on some homemade potato salad or on your favorite sandwich. I also used this version of mayonnaise on Hearts of Palm One Pot Pasta Casserole.
Ingredients for Vegan Mayonnaise
The ingredients are as clean as it gets. In this version of vegan mayonnaise we use silken tofu, apple cider vinegar, mustard, lemon juice and Kala Namak Salt. If you do not have apple cider vinegar simply replace it with a white vinegar or more lemon juice. Don’t like the sulfur smell of Kala Namak Salt? Don’t worry simply omit it and salt to taste. Don’t have yellow mustard use mustard of choice. The idea here is getting you to try something new that will taste nearly the same as the type of mayonnaise we grew up with.

Love this! I have not been a fan of tofu in the past but it really blends so well in this recipe and you can’t even taste the soy flavor!
Thank you Kayla. It is perfect for sandwiches while adding some protein.
I have never thought of oil-free AND egg-free mayonnaise! I have to check silken tofu and try your recipe for a summer salad; thanks for a great suggestion!
This is such as easy recipe to make and would add a good protein hit to the meal as well as excluding a little fat. Love this idea. Salad tomorrow is going to have a new coating I think. Thank you for the inspiration.
