Cactus Salad with Fish-less Tuna
So when it comes to salad this one packs in a ton of flavor with minimal ingredients. In this recipe I used canned Loma Linda Tuno but you can also make this with the Vegan Un-Tuna already on this website if desired.

In my previous post I also made cactus as a breakfast scramble. Be sure to check it out so you can surprise your family with simple yet delicious meals. This recipe uses simple staple ingredients so don’t be afraid to try this out. Cactus are also known as Nopales or Nopalitos and can be found in the ethnic area of your favorite grocery store. Let’s begin shall we!
Fish-less Cactus Salad
Equipment
- Mixing Bowl
- Knife
- Colander
- Oven (optional)
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cup Diced Cactus
- 1/4 Cup Purple Onion
- 1 Cup Diced Tomato
- 2 Tablespoons Diced Jalapeno optional
- 1 Can Tuno optional
- 10 Tortillas optional
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Drain the cactus in a colander and cut in small cubes.
- Cut the rest of the ingredients in small cubes.
- Do not drain your can of Loma Linda Tuno the liquid will help with marinating the salad.
- In a mixing bowl add all of your ingredients and salt to taste. I served mine with tostadas but you can also use lettuce cups or crackers.
Tostadas (optional)
- Set your oven to 375F for 30 minutes
- Place your tortillas on the clean oven racks for 30 minutes flipping half way. Be sure to check them periodically as temperature and times will vary on oven size and brands.
