In a small bowl mix 1 cup of plant milk with the apple cider vinegar to make your vegan buttermilk.
In a separate bowl or plate mix your flour and poultry seasoning.
Cut your tofu ins small triangles or shapes that you prefer.
Prepare your work station and begin by dipping your tofu in the buttermilk then in the flour and then return to the buttermilk and finally dip the nugget in the bread crumbs. It may get a little messy but do not get discouraged the final product will be worth it. Grab that kitchen towel.
Your station should look a little like this.
If you are using the bread crumbs make sure you are coating all sides of the tofu thoroughly.
Your nuggets should be lined in a baking sheet giving them a little room to breath. With kitchen tongs place them in batches of 4 or 5 depending how large your air fryer is for 10 minutes on 400F flipping at the 5 minute mark. If using the oven bake at 350F for 30 minutes flipping half way. Supervise the nuggets as baking temperatures depend on where you live and what kind of oven you have.
In another bowl pour your buffalo sauce and dip your nuggets then serve.
You can enjoy these nuggets on a platter with veggies or in a sandwich with lettuce, tomato and onion and a little vegan menu. For an extra bang you can also air fry the nuggets for 2 minutes after they have been coated with the barbecue or buffalo sauce.
